The first phase of the challenge consisted of a serried of 9-hole individual matches, with an Old Testament team member paired against a New Testament team member. The Old Testament claimed 6 of the singles matches and pushed in 2 of the matches to gain 7 points towards the overall championship. The New Testament won 4 of the singles matches and pushed in two matches to gain 5 points.
The second phase of the challenge has each team divide into four 3-woman scramble teams. Points were awarded to a team based on their 9-hole gross scramble score and place of finish among the eight scramble teams. The Old Testament team of Jacobson, Tobin and Agena ousted the New Testament team of Christenson, Rabern and Greff in a scorecard playoff to take top points in this phase and the Old Testament went on to collect a total of 29 pints in the scramble phase to outpace the New Testaments 25 points.
The Old Testament’s win in each phase of the challenge gave them the first crown in the annual Generations Challenge and bragging rights for a year!
Each participant in the Generations Challenge donated $10 to the Hillsview Junior Golf Program. A total of $240 was raised and donated to the program to help encourage and teach young golfers the game.
